A Letter to Rutgers Professional Golf Turf Program AlumniRUTGERS TURFGRASS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
Dear Turf Alumnus, The Rutgers Professional Golf Turf Management School Alumni Association needs you as a member. We ask that you please send your membership dues in the amount of $25. While the amount of money for dues is small, our current students benefit greatly from your support. As an alumnus, you are part of a great tradition and an exciting future. This is your chance to assist current students make their mark in our profession. For all who support our call for dues, we are happy to send each current member a small token of our appreciation. Many of you remember the hardship you went through to support yourself during the Professional Golf Turf Management School’s twenty-week program and internship. Your enrollment in the Alumni Association will help others through this sometimes difficult time and onto the road of success. Your annual membership dues are used exclusively for scholarships for current students who have worked hard and excelled in their studies. Giving back to the Rutgers Professional Golf Turf Management School strengthens the educational opportunities for current students who are working hard to achieve a level of success in their lives. From personal experience we can attest to the fact that the education and contacts made as a student at Rutgers have made a tremendous difference in professional careers and lives. The Rutgers reputation in our industry signifies a high-quality turfgrass education and students who graduate are employed worldwide. We should all be proud to belong to such a respected group of men and women. The Office of Continuing Professional Education creates, prints and mails our newsletter for your reading pleasure and professional benefit. Those of you who have received The Greens newsletter may have noticed our new look and know it is our main communication to members who are all over the globe. The newsletter contains a list of "lost" alumni that we are trying to locate. If you know the whereabouts of one, please let us know and we will reward you with a Rutgers Professional Golf Turf Management School hat once we confirm the information. We have added an alumni link to OCPE's website, www.golfturf.rutgers.edu. The site not only has the alumni application, but also showcases photos from alumni's courses. Information on how to send your photos and stories for use on the website and in the newsletter is also available. We are proud of our alumni and your many fine accomplishments. Your support is vital to the future of our program, not only with your membership in the Rutgers Turf Alumni Association but with referrals to our Professional Golf Turf Management School. Know we are here to support you in any way possible. Our alumni network stretches across the country and the world. Your fellow alumni are one of your greatest assets.
